Can I write?

- Listen, I am hearing a sound.

or else:

- Listen, I hear a sound.

Which one is correct?

I think " hear " is a stative word. Normally, we dont use stative words in progressive tense. I prefer the latter one.

I would choose #2. "Listen, I am hearing a sound!" gives the strange impression that you want your interlocutor to listen to your act of hearing.
