Hear a song which

Hello, everyone,

1) They played a song on the radio.
2) Did you hear it?

If I combine two sentences above into one, I can consider following two possible ways;
1. Did you hear them play a song on the radio?
2. Did you hear the song which they played on the radio?

While I think the first pattern is very common and natural, how do natives feel the second with relative clause, natural also or awkward?
