  • An 'epithet' is an adjective.
  • However, the word is sometimes used to mean an adjective that describes someone in a negative way.

Thank You Clive;

And I Find Another Sentence "I Have an Epithet That ...."

Does "epithet " Mean "idea"? in This Sentence "epithet" Have No Meaning of Negative; Right?

I have never heard "epithet" to mean idea. I find your second example confusing. Was it possible that the speaker misused the word, or was trying to be funny?
Clive, I thought an epithet in the "heap" sense just meant any abusive word, noun or adjective. Webster's lists"a characterizing word or phrase accompanying or occurring in place of the name of a person or thing," as the first meaning,

Can you give us the whole sentence, please? I suspect the word 'epithet' is not being used correctly in it.

You seem to really like capital letters.

Hi Delmobile,
Thanks for the comment.

My dictionary offers this.
epithet -
1. an adjective or other descriptive word expresssing a quality or attribute, esp. used with or as a name.
2. such a word as a term of abuse.

My older Concise Oxford Dictionary contains what I think of as 'real English', ie English when I was 20.

Sorry, I made a mistake.

The correct sentence is "I have an epiphany that..."
NOT"I have an epithet...."

BUT "heap epithet" is correct. If seach "heap epithet" in google , you will got some articles about it.

Thank you all.
