Healthy vs healthful

Is it correct to say "healthy food" instead of "healthful food"?

Top answer

Both are correct. I know there will be some people arguing that it's only people who can be healthy but one of the meanings the adjective healthy has is 'being conducive to health' so the word shouldn't be ruled out as incorrect.
