Some countries an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result of eating too much fast food. It is, therefore, necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on this kind of food. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
These days, the increase in people who are prone to health illness has been receiving the public's attention. It is said that eating a huge amount of fast food has caused this issue. One solution is proposed that governments should tax higher prices on fast food. In my opinion, I suppose that this measure might not be completely practical
It is obvious to say that there is a host of reasons why people enjoy fast food a lot. First, due to the fact that junk food is convenient, this is the best choice for someone who does not have time to prepare meals. Second, since some of the people whose living standard is not good, there are no alternatives for them to select such as organic food. Moreover, because of the variety of fast food, it would be affordable for customers to purchase.
With all the reasons are mentioned above, it is clear to see that increasing tax on fast food might not be efficient. First, if the price of fast food goes higher, there will be much fewer choices of foods for them, which will eventually lead them to a harder life. Second, this measure might not primary because people put the convenience of fast food on a higher priority than healthy food. For example, children are big fans of junk food simply because it takes them a quick to order and then they are full to go to extra classes.
Therefore, so as to cope with this issue, it would be better if governments encouraged people to consume more healthy food. To do that money could be spent to educate people about the negative effects of fast food, namely obesity, diabetes,etc..Besides, organic food organizations could offer some purchase discounts to help people buy healthy food.
In conclusion, although fast food brings drawbacks to customers'health, charging a higher tax on them would not be efficient. In lieu of it, governments should focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle to citizens.
