Here's one more point of view. "Health" is hardly a "thing." You could say "Health is more important than any thing," in which you emphasize the word "thing" to show you mean a material object.

You were supposed to spend that money on that operation on your foot, and now you tell me you used it to buy a new motorcycle?! I can't believe it. I don't care how long you've wanted one.
