Health Club/Fitness Center

Is 'Health Club' correct English? Or, should I use 'Fitness Center(Club)'? If both of them are okay but there is difference between them, could you tell me what it is? Thank you in advance.

To me, a hotel or your office building may have a fitness center, a single room where there are a few machines and maybe some weights and a mat or a bench.

A health club is a stand-alone facility. When I go to my "fitness club" I just say "I'm going to the gym."
