Headed your way

Could anyone please explain the grammar of the part in bold? Can I use 'heading' instead of that? Did I elaborate the second sentence correctly: "you should start seeing some more work is headed your way!"

?It seems the boss has taken a shine to you, kid. You should start seeing some more work headed your way!

Yes, but headed is also correct. Headed is an adjective in the sentence.

I take "headed" as a verb in the clause some more work headed your way.
