Hi. Are they correct?

He said he would (Is the modal "will" correct, too?) mail it by today/tomorrow/the dealline.

He said he would/will mail it by today/tomorrow/the deadline . Both are OK ('would' is more natural) if the deadline is in the future. If the deadline has passed, then only 'would' works.
