Please see the sentences shown below. Actually I don't know how to express the idea exactly. Please correct me, if I am wrong.

1) He wore out his left arm.

2) The Orthopaedic surgeon told me that I had worn out my left arm and needs surgery.

3) The Orthopaedic surgeon told me that I had worn out my shoulder joint.

4) The Orthopaedic surgeon told me that my shoulder joint was worn out.
