Teachers, please tell me which is correct:

a) He was dressed all in black.

b) He was all dressed in black.

He was dressed in ALL black. Here all is pronoun modifed by black.

He was all dressed in black. Here " all " is funtion as adverb.

Both are OK. Google gives -

all dressed in = 620,000 hits

dressed all in = 323,000 hits

I'd prefer the first, and a more exclusive search at Yahoo gives:

"He was dressed in all black"
Results: 948

"He was all dressed in black"
