Are the sentences correct, and what is the difference between them?

1. He took a lot of photos when he bought the camera.

2. He was taking a lot of photos when he bought the camera.

3. Larry had a bath when he got up this morning.

4. Larry was having a bath when he got up this morning.

2. He was taking a lot of photos when he bought the camera. Sounds like he was taking pictures before he bought it, and continued afterwards. You probably don't mean this.

or

- After he bought the camera he took a lot of photos.

2., and 4 especially, are actually quite funny! As explained above, I don't think you meant those. Although --
