Grammar

He told me that he went there / He said that he went there to me.

1) He told me that he went there.
2) He said that he went there to me.

I feel like they carry the same meaning. What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much as usual in advance.

OK He told me that he went there. (An indirect object in objective case is required.)
These are wrong:
* He told that he went there.
* He told to me that he went there.
* He told that he went ther
