Hello everybody.Iggy looked at his plate. “But I’m not done.” (If only he had said “I’m sorry,” everything would have turned out differently. But once again, not saying it cannot be called bad.) “Oh yeah, you’re done, kid,” said his dad. “Outside.”“Iggy’s bad,” said Molly. (Incorrectly.) Did Iggy push back his chair, scrape the floor, grab a sausage with his fingers, and stomp away, yelling “Good! I hate brunch anyway!” No. He did not. He only did the sausage part.I am reading a book named The Best of Iggy.I have some questions. What does incorrectly mean? Does it mean she was wrong?What does it mean by he did not? Does it mean he didn't hate brunch?And my last question, what does ' he only did the sausage part ' mean? Does it mean he ate his sausage piece?Thanks so much for the help ????

I don't think you have separated this into nice paragraphs the way it was set up in the original story. This makes it difficult to read. Please be careful to format correctly.

The referent of 'the sausage part' is ambiguous, but I take it to be only the part in brackets above. (I also take this ambiguity to be a sign of careless writing.) (Others may interpret it differently.)

So Iggy did not do all of the things described in that question. He only grabbed the sausage with his fingers. That's my guess.

It says he grabbed it, not that he ate it. We are not told what he did after he grabbed it.

I found the book online and saw this in context. The writer has just said that not saying sorry cannot be called bad. She ill-advisedly broke the fourth wall, that's all, and referred back to her own parenthetical comment.

He "did not" actually do all the things the writer describes, that is, pushing his chair, stomping and yelling. You can easily be forgiven for thinking that the writer was referring to the thing she just wrote an instant before, his hating brunch. Writing a children's book is a lot harder than you might think, and some writers aren't up to the task. It's hard to be whimsical without going stupid.

It means that of the list of actions involved in his imaginary tantrum, his grabbing a sausage with his fingers was the only one that actually happened. Read on, and you'll find out he ate it in the yard.
