He lost his way

Dear Friends,

What other expressions would you use if someone has more and more difficulty ( or discrepancy) explaining his own theory?

He lost his way describing his theory. (Anyway, 'he lost his way IN describing his theory'?)

Other suggestions?

Take care,

Hi Pal I would say: I can't make my own way in explaining this theory . Or: I'm not doing well at making my ideas across . Cheers from Lima, Peru in South America!

Slight correction: I'm not doing well at getting my ideas across.

or preferably:

I'm having trouble getting my ideas across.

"lost his way" means that he's now doing something that isn't good for him or others.
