He knows not

Every now and then ,in especially literary contexts, I see expressions with verb+not instead of don't/doesn't/didn't . For example:

What purpose he has I know not. / He was a guy she liked not./ Cast not your stone to the wounded.

And my question is whether we can use this form anytime we want to or if there are any rules or restrictions of its usage.

So, is it possible to use it everytime we want to sound literary?

Hi,

You can se it any time you want, but if you use it a lot you will, in my opinion, just start to sound stupid.

My suggestion is "Use it in a literary context once every three months".
