I have two questions. Can we drop the red out? Also, which punctuation do you find better? Sentence # 1 or # 2?

  1. He isn't the one to ladle out praise, so when he says 'Good', he means it.
  2. He isn't the one to ladle (out) praise, so when he says 'Good,' he means it.
