He dried his sweating right in front of....

Hi

Could you please tell me if this sentence sounds natural to your native ears, especially the yellow parts? Any suggestions are welcome.

(a boy sweating heavily stood right in front of the air conditioner and developed a horribly aching body the next day)

He dried his profuse sweating right in front of the AC flaps; thus invited the aches himself.

Thanks,

Tom
