He came by my office or He came into my office

Which of the following sentences is correct?

1) He came by my office.

2) He came into my office.

If both are possible, do they mean the same thing?

Both are OK. #1 sounds a bit like a casual visit, perhaps when he was on his way to somewhere else. In #2, I more often hear 'to' rather than 'into'.
