He and I ? He and me?

I am confused, please help me!

Examples:

1.-He and I baked a cake for our grandmother's birthday.

Who baked the cake?

-He and I or He and me

2.- Who are the guys in the picture?

He and I or He and me?

Top answer

In both cases "He and I" is formally correct. "Me and him" is a common and widely tolerated conversational form that may, especially for #2, seem less pedantic. Similarly for "Him and me", though that seems slightly less natural to me.

Hello Gaby.
1."He and I " is the formal form of the conversation as we follow the rule of order of using ' second person(you ) then third person (singular like he,she, naun) and then first person( I and we). Moreover we would use "I" in the "He and I" case when we are briefly talking about that particular thing for which "he and I " has been used.
Let me tell you from example:--

Hi Mahesh,

If " he " refers to Paul, then we are correct in saying " Paul and I went to India last year..", because " Paul and I " together formed a collective subject, " we ". Now we've established the subject case,

keepsmilingAbout your third question
The manner in which the question is asked, we reply in the same manner like
"who are the guys in the picture?
There is nothing wrong in replying like
You and she are the guys in the picture.
Same thing can be pointed like you have said
the guys in the picture are y

Question was not like that
whose faces are there in the picture?
so that you could reply 'there are faces of yours and hers in the picture.

" the guys in the picture are you and she." is totally different from using her instead of she
