Grammar

Having trouble finding answer. Appreciate help. Thanks.

Could someone please tell me which of the following sentences is correct grammar usage? Also, I would greatly appreciate the rule that applies, as I have searched everywhere to find the answer to my question. However, since I don't know what the rule is (i.e. subject-verb agreement, etc.) I am stuck.

Thank you in advance!!

1. We had to open our mouth and stick out our tongue.

2. We had to open our mouths and stick out our tongues.
