Having trouble choosing from words in each sentence

Could you please help me choose the right way to say the sentences?

(can you say "choose the right way to say..."

- He glass cracked under hot water. (does this make sense?)
- Having a kid allows you to grow up/mature faster mentally.
- She got me to/made me forget all about him.
- Radiation might prolong/extend life expectancy but will not make him well.
- I wasted gallons (worth) of water doing the dishes. (when to use WORTH?)
- The subway door closed on her/She got stuck in the subway door.

Thank you

- The glass cracked under hot water. (yes this makes sense) - Having a kid allows you to mature faster. (no need to specify 'mentally', this is implied) - She got me to forget all about him.
