having some problems with some TOEFL tests!

0Hello Everyone! 02br
02br
00I took the following tests on TestMagic. Though TestMagic provided very good explanations for their tests but I had problem with the following samples, the explanations were very simple. I was wondering if someone could better explain it for me... 02br

01font008. Uranium, 01i00____02i00 , is an exceedingly rare and potentially dangerous element. 02font02br
02br
01font00to found in trace quantities02br
00found in trace quantities00 02font
02br
02br
01font00Same problem again. -ing or Ed? -ing or Ed? -ing or Ed? It never ends... Anyway, Erin Billy says that we need the Ed form here because uranium is the object of the verbal 01i00found02i00. 02font02br
02br
01font00finding in trace quantities02br

02br
00-------I really don't get it, why we need FOUND here? what does it have to do with the object? why we can't use finding?02br

01font003. After her death in 1986 many documentaries 01i00____02i00 Georgia O'Keeffe were produced.02font02br

02br
02br
01font01i00relating02i00 modifies 01i00documentaries02i00; we can also call this a reduced adjective clause. 02font02br
02br
00Nor do I get this one. I thought we should use related instead of relating. it sounded better for me!02br
02br
01font005. The architecture exhibited in the 00 and 01u00conveyed02u00 us an idea of the 01u00prevailing02u00 attitudes of the day 01u00is02u00 important for the historical and cultural value 01u00it represents02u00.02font02br
02br
01font00conveyed ==> conveying00 02font02br
02br
01font00The perennial problem: Do I use -ing or -ed? Here we need the -ing form because 01i00architecture02i00 is the subject of the verbal 01i00conveying02i00. 02font02br
02br
01font00I (Erin Billy) wrote this problem this way because I noticed that many of my students were missing real TOEFL questions (just like 01font00this one) because they were simply matching the Ed form in 01i00conveyed02i00 with the Ed form in 01i00exhibited02i00 and assuming it was correct that way. 02font02font02br
02br
01font00Nope! Not a good strategy--you'll miss the harder questions if you do that!!02font02br

01font00Gotta have this preposition! 02font02br
