Having + Past Participle

Hello all! I wish to ask you a question.

A few hours ago I wrote a parapraph and am now wondering whether I used having + past participle right. Here is what I wrote;

Having purchased the server, I, somehow, had a 'safety' error.

Does this sentence mean after "I purchased the server, I had a "safety" error." ?

Or

I purchased the server so I had a safety error. ( Looks weird though)

If the first once is correct, even if the sequence of events are really close( like there are a few seconds between those events) can I use it? or Would it be better if I use After purchasing the server ?

I should like to thank Shawn79 for he/him revealing this problem.

Thanks all.

No. What follows has to be a consequence, for example, "Having purchased the server, I didn't have enough money for the software." I don't know what to put because I hav

As enoon suggested, rather than being used in place of after, having should be used to show cause and effect. Presumably, you didn't have a safety error because you purchased the server; you had one after doing so.

Thank you enoon and Aspara Gus.
enoon I don't know what to put because I have no idea what a safety error in a server is.
I bought the server and then there was an error on its website saying ' Payment did not go through because of security problems, for more info visit this link". So I can not say having purchased the server in such sitaution. How about this;

You can't call this a safety error. There are times when 'safety' and 'security' have similar meanings, but this is not one of them.

Thanks CJ. Would it still be incorrect if I meant an error that has some safety problems by saying 'safety error'?

I'd be glad to hear your opinion.

The only thing that comes to mind when I hear 'safety error' is an error that is made during a procedure to make something safe, and even that is far-fetched. I don't sense that 'safety error' is a phrase that is used much.
