Having not known about the deadline change?

I was working on a proposal and it's actual deadline was 4th June, but later it extended to June 10 and I was unaware of this change, submitted the proposal 4th June itself. So i would like to let the customer know about that, I have made the following sentence - having not known about the deadline change,I had submitted our proposal Tuesday (4th) itself. If sentence is not right please let me know the correct one
