"Having lived in…, I have had…"

Hello sexy and smart teachers

Is the following sentence structure "Having lived…, I have had…" grammatically correct?

Example:

"Having lived in an impoverished neighborhood for almost 5 years, I have had the opportunity to act as a volunteered social worker to take care of children in need."

Note: It's for a job application as a social worker. I want to emphasize my volunteer activity when I used to live in this neighborhood.

Greetings from Switzerland
