Having left for...

Good morning.

Is the following sentence correct?

Luke has left for six days.

The meaning should be: he left six days ago.

I know it sounds ridiculous (I could simply choose the Past simple), but it seems one of those sentences you can use a Present perfect in.

Thank you.

It is correct, but awkward. The better version: Luke has (just) left for a six-day trip.

He departed today. He will return a week from yesterday.
