"Having been working very hard, her boss gave her the day off." Correct or Incorrect?

Hello everyone! My name is Kara, and I currently work as an assitant language teacher in Japan. One of my co-workers asked me about this grammar point, but I have no idea how to explain it beyond "It doesn't sound right. " Then, of course, because I thought too much about it I got myself confused.

The sentence we're working with is:

"Beth having been working very hard, her boss gave her the day off."

Is this sentence correct? I don't think it is. Something about Beth, her both, and the tense "having been" makes it sound wrong, but I can't say why.

Then, which of these variations are correct?

1. Having been working very hard, Beth received the day off.
2. Having been working very hard, her boss gave her the day off.
3. As Beth worked very hard, her boss gave her the day off.

1 and

Then, if someone could tell me the specific differences between these two sentences, I would be forever grateful.
"Beth having worked very hard, her boss gave her the day off."
"Beth, having been working very hard, received the day off."

The choices below it:

1 absolutely correct

2 wrong

3 ok (better: as Beth had worked/had been working...)

Last: the second is correct punctuation.
