have/let/make + bare infinitive

1. She had him working hard.
I found #1 somewhere and they say it's used in everyday conversation often.
Is #1 acceptable which is from the formal grammar, have/let/make + bare infinitive?

have + -ing is also correct, but it has a slightly different meaning than have + bare infinitive.
