Have/had waited

I have made up the sentences below.

(1) I have/had waited for a volunteer position at ABC Tutoring Centre for a long time. I am glad that it showed up on its website yesterday, and I applied for it.

(2) I have/had waited for a volunteer position at ABC Tutoring Centre for a long time. I am glad that it showed up on its website last week, and I applied for it.

(3) I have/had waited for a volunteer position at ABC Tutoring Centre for a long time. I am glad that it showed up on its website last month, and I applied for it.

Most of my non-native English speaking friends think "have" in (1) and "had" in the next two. My other friends think "had" should be used in all of them. I am not sure who is correct. Please help me. Thank you very much.

I would use 'had been waiting' in all of them. I had been waiting for a volunteer position at ABC Tutoring Centre for a long time, so I was glad when it (finally) showed up on their website [yesterday / last week / last month], and I applied for it. CJ
