Have/had and some other grammar questions

Hello,
I have some sentences I am not sure about. I'd be glad if anyone could help me out.

1. Pentagon to Buy and Destroy Every Copy of Memoir
Why can you use "to buy" instead of "buys", what does it mean?

2. I asked him if I had to change it. I asked him if I have to change it.
I think the first is correct, I am not sure about the second?

3. I thought you were the boss. I thought you are the boss.
I think the first is correct, I am not sure about the second?

Imagine you had to go to the police station, what would be your dad's first reaction?
Imagine you have to go to the police station, what would be your dad's first reaction?
Imagine you had to go to the police station, what would your dad's first reaction be?

Which sentences are correct/incorrect and why?

5. He is always getting into trouble.
He always gets into trouble.
Which one is correct and why?

6. What is the difference between "If I had to choose from..." and "If I were to choose from..."?
Are both OK?

7. I would prefer my friends to be honest. I would prefer that my friends were honest.
Which pattern is correct?
