Hi,

Have you heard the joke about ... this is how some jokes start.

Is it also possible to try a variation of this (without the joke)?

Have you heard of the man who teaches forgiveness but punishes his enemies?

or something to that effect. It may be funny or not, but can 'have you heard' be used as in the above?
