Have you forgotten/Did you forget

Have you forgotten that I was the one who bought you that?

Did you forget (not referring to a past event, but asking someone right now) that I was the one who bought you that/ I was the one who had bought you that.

Is the second one sentence? I hear native speakers use "Did you forget" in these situations a lot.
