Have you ever heard an injury described by “hot”?

Have you ever heard an injury described by “hot” or “cold”?

Have you ever seen what I’ve described in a game?

In basketball games, you’ll see a player roll his ankle and then tighten his shoe lace and play through it. As long as you keep playing while the injury is hot, you’ll be able to finish the game. If you sit out for a bit and re enter the game onnce the injury is cold, you may not be able to play at all.

How would you phrase the above please?

Is this question correct?

Have you ever heard an injury described by “hot” or “cold”?

Thank you

Everything in your post is correct, except that you should say: "Have you ever heard an injury described as (not 'by') 'hot' or 'cold'?"
