Have to or had to

Hi teachers,

Let's say two people, A and B, are talking:

A: I got the second prize.
B: But your rival John got the first.
A: And you have to spoil my day with this news!

Since the dialogue is happening 'now', would 'have to' be correct? Or is it 'had to'? To me, both sound fine.
