have the munches

I wonder if ' have the muches' sound ok in the following context.

Sometimes even though you are not hungry, you may feel like eating something, such as snacks or whatever. In such case, can I say that

After a meal, even though I am not hungry I have the munches and I find myself chewing on something.

Top answer

Yes, but check the spelling and pronunciation: After a meal, even though I am not hungry I have the munchies and I find myself eating something. 'Chewing' seems a little odd here.
