We use the causative verbs when someone else is caused to perform some activity for you.

Example:

Please have Jamie do the dishes.

(Do something so that Jamie washes the dishes. They might ask Jamie to do it, pay Jamie to do it, or punish Jamie if he doesn't do it.)
