Oh!! You are right!!! I am sorry! I am now on the train standing and typing, so I am NOT drunk, though you could say I am , considering all the mistakes I've made!! I'll be careful!! :-( I wanted to ask you whether 'Studies have shown' and 'Studies show" give you different impressions.

No; to me, they are just two alternative expressions when used in journal articles, etc. The writer must choose the one that fits his style or context, of course.
