Have seen or been seeing

I haven't seen/ have not been seeing the doctor since I thought I got better.
Are they both right?
Intended meaning: I stopped seeing the doctor when I thought I had got better & since then, I haven't visited him.

Could you please also check if the underlined part is right?

Thanks in advance!
