Appreciate if someone could interpret/parse this sentence for me:
"If companies believe they can earn a greater return on cash invested in their business than it would cost to borrow money, they can increase the return on shareholders' equity by borrowing money."
Is this the right way to parse it?:
"If companies believe they can earn a greater return on cash invested in their business than it would cost to borrow money, they can increase the return on shareholders' equity by borrowing money."
Not sure how to parse/comprehend the sentence...
Thanks.

How about....? If companies believed the cash invested in projects would pay back at a similar rate than money loans,.... Just a suggestion :-)
