Have or Has?

0I'm making a personalized quilt and have a question about one of the lines. She wants it to say, "God bless the family who have served." I know that "family" is singular so should it not say "has" instead of "have"? Somehow, neither of these seem correct to me, but obviously one of them must be. I want to be absolutely certain before I begin this step in my project. Will someone please help me?0-

0Yes, Barbara is right about using 'has' in AmE. However, in BrE, 'family' may be used with a singular or plural verb.0-
