please correct my writing.
"Hey John, Do you know Mrs. Friedman? Today, I met a woman named Joanne Friedman. She said she knew me and she said many things about me that were true. But I don't think I have/had met her before."
I think "had made" is correct. But "have made" is also possible. Am I right? Please explain in depth. I admit I have asked this kind of question before. But I still get confused. Could any native speaker please answer my question.
Please note that I am not at the place where I met the person. I returned my home from there a hour ago and I am telling this to my mom.
"Hey John, d o you know Mrs. Friedman? Today no comma I met a woman named Joanne Friedman.
