Have I used the conjunction "and" correctly in this phrase?

The phrase:

Dotfiles are files that typically contain configuration information and are used to control the way terminals, editors, and other tools behave.


Context: Dotfiles are what most Linux enthusiasts call configuration files on a computer. I know it's technical but it's just a fancy name for configuration files.

I'm mostly interested if I used the conjunction correctly, this one: ..... and are used to control ...
