Have I correctly written the sentence using ‘free sugar’ and ‘total energy’?


The daily intake of carbohydrates should be within the recommended limits, while the daily intake of food with free sugar should be less than 10% of the total energy.

Not sure what you mean by "free sugar." Do you mean foods with added sugar (as opposed to natural sugar)? Like a doughnut vs an apple (added vs natural sugar).

As for "total energy," I think I know what you mean, but spell it out. "...of the total energy provided by your daily consumption." OR "...of the total calories consumed that day."
