In fact, it is a lot easier to blame others for our situation. But is it more productive to search our own past and find out what caused our faults?

Would it still be OK if I wrote ...blame for the incident? The incident I'm talking about will be clarified, of course, in the text if I have to develop the sentences into a paragraph. What do you think?

I would say "but is it not more productive ..." or "but would it not be more productive ..."

I don't disagree with teechr's version.
Is it more productive . . . . sounds like a genuine question
Is it not more productive . . . makes the question more rhetorical, and adds an elegant touch.

Incident and situation
