Have I correctly used the underlined words in the sentences?

Have I correctly used the underlined words in the sentences? I guess I have. But please correct me if I’m wrong.

1. Those people are literally butting heads over who have cursed them to their faces.
2. We should work together in the face of danger.
3. The radio announcer said that petty fights on social media, Facebook likes and angry emoticons would not change anything after a tragedy – cooperation could.
4. Everyone did #PrayforSyria and every “Pray for” hashtag.
5. Some citizens looked at the issue the other way around.

Sentence #1 doesn't make sense.
In #3, I think "the" would make more sense than "a."
I have no idea what #4 means, but then again, I don't do Twitter!
