Have I correctly used the present participle?

Hi,

I'm wondering if I have correctly used the present participle in these two sentence.

Is it fine to repeat this structure (present participle) in two in two consecutive paragraph?

"The results of examining the effect of the two types of interventions (ICF-Core Set/ routine) on Fugl-Meyer test items showed that there is no difference in the efficacy of these two therapeutic interventions, indicating that ICF-based Core Set-based occupational therapy could not make a significant difference between the two groups in terms of Fugl-Meyer test items.

The results also showed that ICF-Core Set-based occupational therapy interventions were able to make a significant difference between the two groups in terms of COPM test items, improving patient performance and mental satisfaction."

Thanks!
