Have I correctly used ‘of his,’ ‘a bad feeling,’ and ‘influence on him’ in the sentences?

Franco, a good friend of mine, had been going out with those new friends of his every night. I had a bad feeling that they hadn’t been good influence on him.

teechr, it wouldn't be acceptable if I wrote good influences on him, would it? I thought influence should be plural because they (referring to friends) is plural, too.
