Have I correctly used 'after the mass' in the sentence?

Have I correctly used 'after the mass' in the sentence? (Context: There were graduation ceremonies to be held at the hall, but before these started, a priest held a mass there. When the mass was over, the emcee, a lady, told the audience that there would a break.)


Father Jessie Roberts officiated a eucharistic celebration at the hall where the graduation ceremonies were to be held. After the mass, Miss Nelson, the master of ceremonies, announced that there would be a 30-minute break.
