A. " My friend and I have gone to the beach yesterday. " or is it
B. " My friend and I have been going to the beach yesterday. "
This was our test today and what I answered was letter A,
but then it turns out that our teacher's answer was letter B.
I just couldn't get why is it so. I really would appreciate your help, would you please provide a complete and detailed explanation?

Hmmm. Actually both sentences are a bit unusual. It would be much more common to just say My friend and I went to the beach yesterday.
